Roundtable discussion, concert film about the beginnings and concert live stream to be seen online worldwide
Ticket reservations for the live concert with audience in St. Michael Altenstadt
In addition to the first "Musica Sacra International" concert with an audience on 31 July 2021 in St. Michael, Altenstadt, MODfestivals also offers an extensive online programme. A round of talks via Zoom, a concert summary of the festival beginnings from 1992, as well as three ateliers and a livestream concert from the Dreifaltigkeitskirche Kaufbeuren can be seen online worldwide from 31 July.
The programme will start on 31 July at 6 p.m. with a roundtable discussion on "Music in Interreligious Encounters - Practical Experiences and Insights". The discussion will be held via Zoom by Hayat Chaoui, singer and director of the intercultural WOW Choir Wuppertal; Dr. Isabel Laack, private lecturer at the Institute for Religious Studies at the University of Heidelberg; Prof. Dr. Britta Sweers, Center for Cultural Studies, University of Bern and Bettina Strübel, artistic director of "Musica Sacra International". It will be moderated by the Artistic Director of Musica Sacra International, PD Dr. Verena Grüter. It can be viewed online on the website www.musica-sacra-international.org.
Afterwards, at 8 p.m., you can also watch a concert summary of the 1992 Festival beginnings online. The very next day, 1 August 2021, there will be livestream workshops with Ars Choralis Coeln (Christianity) at 2 pm, with the Group Anubhab (Hinduism) at 3 pm and with the Ensemble Spinario (Animism) from the Dreifaltigkeitskirche Kaufbeuren at 4 pm. A joint concert of the three ensembles will follow live and only online at 8 pm, also from the Dreifaltigkeitskirche Kaufbeuren.
Those who want to experience Musica Sacra International live and on site with an audience will have the opportunity to do so on 31 July at 8 pm in St. Michael, Altenstadt. As with the streaming concert, the ensembles Group Anubhab, Ars Chorlis Coeln and the Ensemble Spinario will perform here. A special feature is a composition by Rupert Huber on the holly, specially commissioned for MSI 2021, which will be premiered live at this concert.
