"Musica Sacra International" - Successful launch at Whitsun followed by concert weekend in July
After a successful start of "Musica Sacra International" at Whitsun, where more than 2000 spectators followed the festival online and worldwide, MODfestivals is now preparing for the next concert weekend at the end of July. Due to the pandemic, the festival will for the first time combine events live on site and online from May to October under the motto "Our Earth". In addition, concert weekends with evening concerts, ateliers, lectures, discussions and prayers will take place at various locations on three weekends in July, August and October.
Concert Altenstadt with audience
The concert weekends will begin on Saturday, 31 July 2021, at 8 pm with a concert with spectators in St. Michael Altenstadt. The group Anubhab (India/Germany) will perform on Hinduism, Ars Choralis Coeln (Germany) on Christianity and the ensemble Spinario (Austria/Germany) on animism. A special feature is a composition by Rupert Huber on the holly, specially commissioned for MSI 2021, which will be premiered this weekend.
Tickets are only available at the box office, reservations are possible and welcome from 1 July. A round-table discussion on "Music in Interreligious Encounters - Practical Experiences and Insights" as well as a concert summary of the festival beginnings from 1992 can be seen online on the festival website from 31 July.
Concert Kaufbeuren via Livestream
On Sunday, 1 August 2021, at 8 pm, another concert with the same line-up will follow live from the Dreifaltigkeitskirche Kaufbeuren. However, this will not take place in front of an audience, but will also be shown worldwide on the "Musica Sacra International" website via livestream. The concert in the Dreifaltigkeitskirche Kaufbeuren is presented by Auto Singer.
Ateliers live in the church - worldwide on the net
Already in the afternoon before the concert, there will be an atelier with Ars Choralis Coeln, the Group Anubhab and the Ensemble Spinario live in the Dreifaltigkeitskirche Kaufbeuten. The approximately one-hour workshops can be followed online at "www.musica-sacra-international.org" and provide insights into the music of the various world religions. The content of the respective music and religion is conveyed, as well as background knowledge about the country of origin and culture.
